SANDISK APPOINTS SUMIT SADANA AS SVP-STRATEGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Milpitas, Calif., -SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), the global leader in flash memory cards, announced that it has appointed Sumit Sadana as Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development with immediate effect.

Sadana will be responsible for driving SanDisk's strategic planning across functions and organizations and will report to Chairman and CEO, Eli Harari. Sadana joins SanDisk from Sunrise Capital where as President he provided consulting services to technology and private equity companies. Previously, Sadana was the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at Freescale Semiconductor, and also served as its Chief Technology Officer. Before that, he held several technical, operations, strategic planning and general management roles over a 13-year career at IBM. "We are pleased to have someone of Sumit's impressive background join the SanDisk team," said Harari.

Sadana holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He is also on the board of directors for The Miracle Foundation.
